Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Maverick (“Maverick”, “we”, “us”) collects and processes the personal data of users of the service available at ask.withmaverick.app, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: when you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a unique identifier, via Firebase Authentication.
  • Search content: the queries you submit are processed to generate AI responses.
  • Usage and technical data: interaction events, device and browser type, IP address, collected for analytics via PostHog.
  • Cookies and local storage: session tokens required for authentication and identifiers used for analytics.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Provide and maintain the service (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Authenticate users and ensure security (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Improve and analyze the product (legitimate interest / consent, where required).
  • Comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. Third-party services

We rely on processors that handle data on our behalf:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database and backend functions.
  • Apple — “Sign in with Apple”.
  • PostHog — product analytics.
  • Cloudflare — application hosting and delivery.
  • AI model providers — processing of queries to generate responses.

5. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes described or while you maintain an active account. You can request deletion at any time.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise them, write to privacy@withmaverick.app.

7. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases the transfer is based on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

8. Minors

The service is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; significant changes will be communicated through the service. The date above indicates the latest revision.
